i love my mo
We've had some struggles this week, and I'm a little anxious about returning to work (my part time gig) tomorrow. But really, other than the occassional accidents and destruction of edibles, she's pretty sleepy. And I could use the routine. Took some time yesterday to call home care vets for the putting her to sleep thing. Lisa called around about the burial/cremation options. Not only is all this upsetting, but it's big big business too. Trying not to be too anxious, but I am, there's no doubt about it.

Mainly tho I just love the wobbly little dog a whole lot. She gets distracted by every little thing, and is the slowest walker ever now. Walkies involve lotsa treat bribery and encouragement. She's so sweet and happy to meet EVERY person and dog on the street tho.

Ok, to yet another vet appointment.

moley update

01.24.01 W: moley seizures four times between 7pm (approx) and 4am, two visits to the emergency room. lotsa drugs to medicate her. plenty o' shit and other disgustingness. even more stress and fear. luckily many cool folks to help and send love.

01.25.01 TH: moley spends an overnight with SFVS. doing ok (no seizures). but either wacked out on drugs or in post ictho (sp?) after her seizures. we visit at 6pm, and she is much much better. calm, and interactive. still drooly and a little outta it, but good.

01.26.01 F: no seizures all night. slight increase in PB meds, but otherwise, she's due to come home after 1pm -- woohoo!
I've been sleep deprived and insane for over 36 hours. self medicated with some good merlot followed by bad merlot. kept missing my moleywole last night. she was in every shadow and in the outer edges of my vision all night. I cannot wait til she comes home. I miss the little pigdog. this is probably the beginning of the end, but right now, all I want is to enjoy the little reprieve I hope I've been given...

decided to name my motorcycle after the spirit in which I bought it. the chinese characters translate to never, die, bird. which is gives us the Korean word for phoenix. figure that it had to be about flames (being orange, and being me). and figure that it's all about trying to have a life after moley goes. possibly macabre, but really, I think I'm just trying to deal. so there it is.

now the question is, do I use the Chinese or the Korean characters on my bike?

sitting with moley in the sun is one of my favorite things... having coffee, sharing the dogbed. had a pile of leftove carnitas and carne asada with eggs, tortillas, and sausage. full and sleepy me.

my first gig as a contractor is done, and I'm spending today recharging and resting. they want me back next month (woohoo) and I really really liked working with them. phew. disaster averted? stay tooned... (aren't ellipses annoying -- mwah hah hah...!!!....)

making a killing vs a living
two weeks off, and plenty of time to think and mull over things. moley's illness is nothing if not a catalyst. been thinking about work a whole lot. got caught up in this unreal economy -- housing went through the roof, spending was absurd (I knew people whose whole social calendars were filled with nothing but free dotcom parties. strange, but true), and people were talking lotsa shit.

thinking about making a living. about living. rather than being a cog, making a killing, or anything else.

mainly thinking a lot about the quality of life, and that sorta thing.
